Found object* art workshop
December 14, 2015
6:30-8:30pm

8914 Aurora Ave North. 98103.
Led by Lindsey Schoeneman, Common Art Gallery Artist-in-Residence.

Join us for an evening of creativity and art-making using found objects—those things perhaps lost, perhaps forgotten or discarded —and transforming them into something new, fostering new life and allowing ourselves to discover deeper meanings in the process. All are welcome, no art experience necessary!

*A found object is an object that is not traditionally viewed as a piece of art. Most of the items that you encounter in your everyday life could be considered found objects; for example, an alarm clock, a plastic fork, or a piece of wood that you found on the side of the road--it could be anything! If you are able, come to the workshop with one or two found objects in hand; other materials will be provided.

found
Perhaps it was lost
perhaps it was right where it was supposed to be
either way
it was witnessed and has been witnessed now, again
a life enlivened

object
A solid something
or rather
a solid piece

      of something
that belongs in the greater scope of
      our existence

found object
a life enlivened that belongs in the greater scope of our existence
